As Working Site Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing progress against the build programme, ensuring the high quality across all stages of the build and prioritising health and safety across the site. Depending on your trade, you will also jump on the tools as and when required.

Rate of Pay: £38,000 – £50,000 per annum dependant on experience

Contract: 18-month fixed term contract

Expected Working Hours: 41.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday

About the Role:

As Working Site Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing progress against the build programme, ensuring the high quality across all stages of the build and prioritising health and safety across the site. Depending on your trade, you will also jump on the tools as and when required.

 

Main responsibilities will include:

Build Programme

  • Reading and interpreting contract drawings and calculations, and delivering quality workmanship to meet specifications
  • Prioritise, implement and manage construction tasks in accordance with project priorities and goals
  • Co-ordinating labour and resources on site to deliver the build programme, and to proactively schedule in trades to ensure optimum delivery.
  • Manage material levels to ensure the minimum amount of stock, but enough to ensure the site programme is met and all labour is efficiently employed.
  • Identifying alterations to the scope of works in the form of an addition, substitution or omission from the contract drawings and raising variations with the project management team
  • Liaising proactively with the company’s external suppliers and partners to ensure the build programme is achieved.
  • Ensure that the on-site construction team is fully resourced and well-directed, with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities, and are provided with full support in achieving these in terms of communication, training and development, and the organisation of the site’s workload and resources.

 

Health and Safety

  • Implement health and safety system onsite, ensuring all relevant documentation is in order and safe systems of work are practised.
  • Lead toolbox talks and on-site briefings to foster commitment to best practices.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to risk mitigation, build sequencing, and overall quality.
  • Carrying out toolbox talks or similar on-site briefings to influence, gain commitment, and to drive best practice.
  • Showing a good behavioural example in all aspects of health and safety, organisation, conduct, quality of work, and professionalism.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Undertaking company directed quality control procedures and inspections at the correct timings, and rectifying any defects so as not to incur additional cost, time delays to the programme, or reduction in the final quality.
  • Monitoring and controlling the cost of production, and approving payment to contractors and trades where appropriate.
  • Initiating and attending plot inspections with the Local Building Inspector or Warranty inspectors, taking corrective action to ensure no delays in the programme.
  • To deliver a high standard of site presentation at all times.
  • Ensuring compliance with warranty standards, building regulations, and overall quality standards.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Excellent organisational skills.

  3. Demonstrable experience within the construction industry.
  4. Experience with Site Management on Domestic and/or Commercial JCT Contracts
  5. An excellent communicator, able to convey information clearly and effectively.
  6. Experience dealing with subcontractors effectively.
  7. Ability to manage programmes, material acquisition and quality control.
  8. Comfortable implementing and enforcing Health and Safety Systems.
  9. Able to effectively deliver site specific training and toolbox talks.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Construction Management NVQ6-7 or equivalent experience.
  2. SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator, Scaffold Inspection and first aid certificates desirable.
  3. Full UK Driving License.

 

Other

  1. Within commutable distance of Stamford, Linc. or willing to relocate.
